Year 2018 is the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up.  As put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the 19th CPC National Congress, “Equal importance shall be attached to TCM and Western medicine to inherit and develop TCM”, which fully embodies great attention paid by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to TCM and points out the direction for us to promote the inheritance and development of TCM in the new era. The Yearbook is essential for academic inheritance and innovation. It will not only serve the contemporary but also benefit the future. All the editors, with tremendous rigor and enormous sense of historical mission, will further improve the compilation quality and increase the academic influence of the Yearbook to enable it to play full role in supporting state affairs upon recording history and foreseeing the future by reviewing the past, making the Yearbook homeland and brand of TCM science.
